Yesterday, Simon Cowell tweeted about our Amy – calling on his 11 million followers to #holdamyshand
The actual. Real. Simon Cowell.
He was retweeted over 500 times and favourited over 1000 times and spread our cause, well, EVERYWHERE.
Simon even donated personally to the Hold Amy’s Hand Appeal. What a guy.
Amy’s former boss, Richard Desmond, also stepped in as soon as he heard the news about Amy’s situation. He quickly pledged a generous amount to our fighting fund, which was incredibly kind of him.
Matt Goss then gave Amy a call for a chat. Yes. The Matt Goss. He was very keen to get involved in Hold Amy’s Hand and will be doing some exciting things with us over the coming weeks.
Teenagers everywhere are also spreading the word about Amy, thanks in no small part to the hundreds of Beliebers and Directioners who have taken Amy’s cause to their hearts! And Glee beauty Naya Rivera Dorsey also tweeted about Amy to her 1.7 million followers, causing another huge flurry of support.
Thank you Mr Cowell. Thank you Mr Desmond. Thank you Matt Goss. Thank you Naya and all you Beliebers and Directioners. We are so, so grateful.
Our total is now hovering around the £30,000 mark, which, considering we only launched two days ago, is absolutely mind-blowing.
Keep checking our twitter, FB and instagram for updates – we’ve still got a long way to go and there is so much more exciting stuff planned yet to come.
Thank you, hand holders everywhere, for your donations, your tweets, and your overwhelming support: no matter the size or shape of your contribution, it’s all helping our Amy.
£30,000 down, £70,000 to go!
